I strongly urge everyone that visits this page to please read "Food Pets Die For: Shocking Facts About Pet Food' written by Ann Martin, Shawn Messonnier and Michael Fox. This book is very disturbing but I feel that it's something that every responsible pet owner should read. I promise that it will open up your eyes to the pet food manufacturing world. I was personally sickened to find out what pet food by-products are. After reading up to page 20, I switched my Greyhounds off of Eukanuba! Your thoughts and comments on this subject are welcome!

Judy Sircher, whose friendship I hold very near and dear to my heart, wrote this amazing poem about Greyhounds for a Greyhound fund-raiser. Judy and her roommate have rescued two white Boxers. If you're in the market for a Boxer, PLEASE consider rescuing a white Boxer, please. Now for the poem...Enjoy...

The Unknown Future

You may not know this, Or have an idea how
Your donation can help me, Because the reward is not now
But I thought if I shared, What may lie ahead
For all of us Greyhounds and what would be said...

I have only one life, The only one I know
But one day it shall change, One day I will go
To a place I won't recognize and I'm sure I will fear
Until I start the next journey, Of the home filled with care

My owners will pet me and at first I'll ask why
For the kisses on my head, Will make my heart cry
But my tears are of wonder, I did nothing new
But someone now loves me, Is this too good to be true

My bed is now comfy and to stretch feels great
My legs can't get trapped, Because they don't believe in crates
And running is now fun, There's no expectations on me
Because the home's filled with love, Where happiness is key

A place I can roam, Whenever I choose
A place based on love, Not if I win or lose
And the meals are provided, Out of the kindness of hearts
Gentle hands stroke my fur, And my fear now departs

I did nothing to deserve this, Because my mind did not know
That a heart can provide miracles...That love can still grow
As my past life now fades, It was well worth the wait
For the love you provide, Is My Heavens' Gate

And although animals can teach Unconditional love
FORGIVENESS FROM GREYHOUNDS IS ONE STEP ABOVE
And as you think back, I hope you realize in the end
Because of what you did for me, This Greyhound is your friend.
